Smarter Defaults for Bullhorn Automation Configuration
Automations
Bullhorn Automation now ships with smarter out-of-the-box defaults that reflect how the vast majority of customers use the platform, reducing configuration errors and improving automation reliability.
What's New?
Bullhorn Automation has been updated with improved default settings that align with common customer usage patterns:
-
Job-Based Automations with Record Type = Sales Contact now default to "Sales Contacts and Not Jobs: Anytime" re-entry setting instead of "Do Not Allow Re-entry"
-
New Lists now default to "Always Updated" instead of "One Time"
-
New submission-based engagements no longer pre-select the dynamic link option by default
Why Does It Matter?
These new defaults eliminate a critical pain point for staffing firms managing sales contacts across multiple open jobs. The previous default re-entry setting frequently blocked contacts from entering automations for subsequent jobs, silently breaking essential workflows such as screening questions, candidate updates, and auto-matching processes.
With these smarter defaults, Job-Based Automations work correctly from the moment of creation, significantly reducing:
-
Configuration errors during automation setup
-
Troubleshooting time spent investigating automations that appear active but fail to trigger
-
Workflow interruptions that impact candidate and client engagement
